Matthew 3:3 NLT, the prophet Isaiah speaking about John the Baptist: “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!’”
What an unlikely character to herald the King of Kings! Living in the wilderness, dressed in camel hair, and subsisting on locusts and wild honey, he must have seemed quite unusual! But his message was solid: “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
John’s message is urgent! He encourages mankind to repent now, because the Kingdom is drawing closer each day, and there will come a day when it will be too late to make your peace with Jesus. You need to repent and return before you die, or before Jesus returns. Either way, Jesus will take believers with him; unbelievers will experience never-ending fire.
Today is the accepted day of salvation!
