Forgiveness!

For Wednesday, March 15, 2023:

1 John 1:8-9 NLT: “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

God’s grading system is pretty tough. It’s “pass-fail.” If we get everything right, we pass and get to spend eternity in heaven with the Father. But get even one thing wrong, we fail and heaven isn’t an option. And the Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s standards.

But God loves us so much that he sent his Son to forgive our sins and to be our Redeemer. Since ALL have sinned, heaven is only open to those Jesus forgives and redeems. That’s why we are told to share the Good News with the whole world!

God is the ultimate provider! He wouldn’t have sent a Savior unless we really needed one! God sent the Redeemer in response to our need! God is good!
