2 Cor. 6:1 NLT: “As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it.”
The Son of God came to earth to trade places with mankind. Jesus took the world’s sin upon himself, and gave us the gift of eternal life in the presence of the Father. This gift represents eternal hope. It’s a marvelous gift, but Paul’s question is, “Do we appreciate it?”
The problem as I see it, is that the gift is promised in this life, but we benefit from it in the next life, so some people suffer a disconnect. It’s easy to be nonchalant about the situation when the benefit is not yet perceived, but that’s wrong. This is God we’re talking about; your eternal destination hangs in the balance. Take it seriously!
Your life should be radically transformed when you accept the gift from Jesus!
