For Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021
Luke 24:5b-6 NLT: “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee!”
It’s Resurrection Sunday! In Hebrew tradition, a part of a day counts as a full day. Jesus died on Good Friday, day #1. Saturday, the Sabbath, was day #2. And on Sunday, the 3rd day, Jesus rose from the dead, just as he himself had predicted!
Later that day, people saw him up, out and walking around. Over the next weeks, hundreds of people saw Jesus and listened to him speak. These are credible eyewitnesses, and we have no reason to doubt their testimony!
He is risen – He is risen indeed!
