Gratitude!

For Sunday, September 11, 2022:

James 3:13 NLT: “If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.”

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s standards. On our own, we didn’t stand a chance of seeing heaven from the inside. But our merciful Creator offered us a free gift – salvation through the work of his Son Jesus. Jesus pre-paid our sin-penalty, affording believers residence alongside God’s people in the hereafter! We all need to make a decision to believe in the Son!

Believing in Jesus shows that we have wisdom. Accepting forgiveness and eternal life in the presence of the Lord is a good decision. And out of gratitude for God’s gift, we endeavor to live honorable lives and do good works in the name of Jesus.

The world would be joyful and more peaceful if everyone would behave as Jesus taught. 2,000 years after his crucifixion, I can’t believe the number of people who still don’t “get it!”
