1 Thessalonians 4:13 NLT: “And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.”
Since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
When Jesus returns, it will be announced with a commanding shout from an archangel and trumpets from heaven! Graves will open, bodies will rise and those still alive will be “caught up” in the air with Jesus. All believers will be “gathered.” Then we will be with the Lord forever, and therefore we have hope eternal!
Jesus said that if it were not so, he would have told us!
