Winning the Battle!

October 10, 2022 Monday Message:

1 John 2:14 NLT: “I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one.”

There’s a lot in this one verse! Believers become ‘Children of God,’ adopted into the Holy Family. This includes both new believers and those who have followed Jesus for quite some time. Recent converts are often quite full of enthusiasm for their newfound redemption, so it’s good to include them in the fellowship!

In the same way that darkness and light cannot co-exist, evil and God cannot co-exist. Winning the battle with the evil one can be as simple as asking Jesus to live in your heart. Use Jesus to displace sin.

My advice is to never battle sin by yourself. Always include the Lord. Hop right up on Father God’s lap. Sin cannot exist there!
