July 4, 2022 Monday Message:
John 8:36 ESV: “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
Today is July 4th, Independence Day. We celebrate freedom in the US! But the freedom we gained in the Revolutionary War can’t match the freedom given to us by Jesus!
Only God can forgive sins, and God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – put a plan in motion to redeem mankind. Jesus took the sins of the world to the place of the dead, leaving mankind cleansed, ready to spend eternity in the presence of the Lord. We are no longer slaves to the law or to our sin-problem. Jesus redeemed us! We just have to say ‘yes’ to God’s free gift.
Our belief in who Jesus was and the truth of his words shows our faith. We are saved by grace through faith.
Remember today to celebrate freedom! And don’t forget the freedom given to us by Jesus!
