Matthew 11:19b NLT, Jesus speaking: “Wisdom is shown to be right by its results.”

How do we authenticate a prophet? We compare the prophesy with what actually happened. If the prophesy came true, the prophet is authentic. Simple!

How do we tell if someone is wise, if they’re telling the truth? Jesus said to check the results. Looking back on a situation and what was done, it’s easy to spot wisdom.

Confidently, Jesus is telling us to go ahead, check up on him! Give him the old “wisdom test.” See if what he says holds up. See if it contains hope.

Jesus is both fully God and fully man, so he knows that his teaching will be upheld. After all, he’s speaking on behalf of heaven!
