Ephesians 2:4-5 NLT: “God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)”
The Apostle Paul, who had a personal encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, is testifying about the basics of Christianity to the church in Ephesus. But this letter could have been written to each of us!
It reinforces what I call the “God trends,” the nature of our Lord. Paul mentions mercy and love as characteristics of God. The life to which he is referring is eternal life in the presence of the Father – what we call heaven. And remember, we are saved by grace through faith!
Just as Jesus was raised from the dead, God intends to raise the rest of us believers too! Faith in the “God trend” fills us with hope!
