For Saturday, June 29, 2024:
1 Peter 3:16b NLT: “If people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.”
People have opinions, oftentimes incorrect opinions. A lot of people want to be the know-it-all, a step ahead of others. They’d be better off if they slowed down and fact-check before they open their mouths!
In their quest to appear superior, many dis everyone around them. “Good life” could be either bounty or standing on higher ground. But if your good life is a result of living for Jesus, there is no basis for anyone’s accusations.
No one ever likes to be wrong or having to admit it. But realizing that your good life is the result of following Jesus, the Bible says that your accusers will be ashamed and embarrassed!
So keep doing the right things for the right reasons. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Stick with him!
