Matthew 1:21 NLT, angel speaking to Joseph, the groom: “Mary will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Names used to have meaning, and Jesus' name means, “The Lord saves,” or, “Yahweh saves.” That he would be the redeemer of mankind should come as no surprise – His name says it all!
We have been given an incredible gift, assurance of salvation, a path to eternity in the presence of the Father. All we have to do is say, “Yes!” Saying “thank you” would be good too! As we celebrate Christmas each year, we in turn give gifts to others! We remember the ultimate gift God gave us by sending his Son Jesus to rescue mankind.
We share that Good News with others!
