1 Peter 1:13 NLT: “Prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.”
Jesus is coming again, and Peter is counseling the believers to roll up their sleeves and get ready for action. Stay sober – focus on what Jesus is doing, although it will probably be such a big deal that no one could miss it!
Jesus’ rescue of the believers is a gift of grace, something we really don’t deserve. Grace isn’t just for the past, when we first gave our lives to Jesus. It isn’t only for the present, where we live each moment standing in His grace. It is also for the future, when grace will be delivered to us. God has only just begun to show us the riches of His grace!
Grace is the unmerited love of God, who bends down to bless and redeem mankind, and that gives us hope!
