Forgive!

For Wednesday, February 14, 2024:

Mark 11:26 NLT, Jesus speaking: “If you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses”

This is the same principle Jesus taught in what we call “The Lord’s Prayer.” “Our Father, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” As we forgive others, we too will be forgiven.

The Lord won’t be dispensing forgiveness to those with hardened hearts. They can choose to hold a grudge, but God won’t put up with that in His Kingdom. The warning is that God will treat us like we treat our fellows, so be careful what you say and do. God will also judge us as we judge our fellows, so leave the judging to the Father. Let go of the problem, and let God provide the solution.

Jesus said that if you’re headed for Temple but still carrying a grudge, a person should first square things up with their brother or sister. Only then does God welcome us into his Temple and his Kingdom.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”
