God's Son!

For Sunday, October 8, 2023:

Mark 2:10-11 NLT: “So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!’”

Doubters are everywhere. To believe that God’s Son would come to earth as a man requires a stretch of our imaginations and requires a lot of faith. But watching the healings convinced many.

Since sin is disrespecting God’s instructions, only God can offer forgiveness. Jesus forgiving the man’s sins is like Jesus stepping into his Father’s shoes. Nobody saw that coming! So to prove his point, Jesus completes the healing of the Paralyzed man. Remember he was brought in on a stretcher lowered through the roof! And Jesus commanded, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” And the man did just that!

Onlookers were saying, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!” Jesus made his point!

Today we should worship our Father in heaven and his Son!
