Savior!

For Saturday, August 13, 2022:

Matthew 1:21 NKJV: “The virgin Mary will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name “Jesus,” for He will save His people from their sins.”

Jesus was born with a job description already in place. Saving his people from their sins is a huge undertaking, but Jesus was born for the task! At the time, no one anticipated the challenge it would present, the pain and suffering incurred along the way, and finally Jesus giving his own human life to pre-pay our sin penalty.

The Good News is that Jesus conquered both sin and death with that one event. In three days, God had him up and walking around where people could see and hear him! Jesus settled the question, “Is there life after this life?” Believers are the beneficiaries of revelation!

The name “Jesus” literally means “Savior!”
