Psalm 43:3a NLT: “Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me.”
This Psalm is a prayer asking God to take charge, to direct our lives. The author has learned that his own light and truth don't contain all the answers. He's asking God to intervene, which can only make things go better!
As an analogy, let's say that living our lives is like driving a car. When we insist on driving, every once in a while the car might wind up in the ditch! When life is going like that and you're at the end of yourself, it's time to slide over and let God take the wheel, which is where he should have been all along!
God is the best driver because he knows exactly where we should be going!
