Christians!

For Sunday, December 17, 2023:

John 8:31b-32 NLT, Jesus speaking: “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Jesus, being fully God and fully man, does not have the capability to lie. Untruths cannot come from his mouth. Therefore we should listen to him, do exactly as he says, and then memorize what we just did!

Becoming a Christian and remaining a Christian is simple, as it should be. Repent, claim Jesus as Lord of your life, be baptized and stick with it! I believe that God set each of us up to succeed. God did not make it difficult for us to love him!

Jesus delighted in bringing salvation to the world. He was obedient, fulfilling the mission on which he had been sent.

While we find Jesus in the basics, we should never undervalue the gifts God has offered to us; forgiveness, acceptance and a place alongside his own in the hereafter. Eternity is a very long time, and God wants believers along for the entire ride!

Yes, we too can become “Children of God!”
