Sept. 7, 2020 Monday Message:
Mark 2:5 ESV: “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’”
Jesus is known as the ‘Great Healer.’ He should also be known as the ‘Great Forgiver of Sins!’ The assembled crowd was expecting a healing miracle. They’d seen Jesus do this before. But to say your sins are forgiven – that’s something that only God could do! The crowd didn’t see that coming!
So friends, don’t limit Jesus. Don’t come to him only for Bible teaching, moral direction or for healing, because the biggest gift he has for you is forgiveness of sin. That’s a lesson we can learn from our paralyzed brother!
With sin forgiven, we can be reconciled with our Creator. We can once again approach the throne of God and spend eternity in His presence. After all, this life on earth is only temporary, but the life after this life is eternity! That’s a long time! And knowing that we have a reservation in heaven gives us hope!
God’s blessings on this Labor Day Weekend!
