Everyone Saved!

October 3, 2023 Monday Message:

Romans 10:1 NLT: “Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved.”

Friends, your eternal destination is serious business. “Forever” is a very long time! Paul’s prayer, as he writes to the church in Rome, is for all to be saved, redeemed, to hold a reservation in the hereafter, a reservation made for us by Jesus.

Likewise, the prayer of every Pastor nowadays should be that their entire flock would be included in the heavenly life-after-this-life. Paul goes on to warn of misdirected religious zeal. Raised Jewish, his flock had plenty of enthusiasm for religion but no knowledge of Jesus’ plan for our salvation. As leaders, we need to challenge everyone in our pews to ask Jesus into their heart. But each person must make their own decision.

Today is the best day to commit or re-commit your soul to follow God’s Son!

No More Works!

October 2, 2023 Monday Message:

Romans 9:31-32a NIV: “The people of Israel, who tried so hard to get right with God by keeping the law, never succeeded. Why not? Because they were trying to get right with God by keeping the law, by their works, instead of by trusting in him.”

God judges us using a pass/fail grading system: Get everything right, pass; get one thing wrong, fail. Unfortunately most people have done hundreds, if not thousands of things wrong. That’s why we need forgiveness, That’s why we need Jesus to take the sins of the world to the place of the dead. Without Jesus, we’d never get to see the inside of heaven. But if we put our faith, hope and trust in Jesus, he will go ahead to prepare a special place for us in the hereafter. We are saved by grace through faith. Grace is the Father sending Jesus our way, and calling us to listen to him. Faith is our personal trust in Jesus, believing that he’s the Son of the living God and that he will do for us what he promised.

Trust in God; follow his Son!

It's about Jesus!

For Sunday, October 1, 2023:

Luke 4:21 NIV: “Jesus began by saying to them, ‘Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.’”

Jesus had gone to worship in the local synagogue. He was asked to read scripture from the prophet Isaiah. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Jesus concluded by stating, “Friends – this was written about me. What we just read is standing right in front of you!” Picture yourself there on that day. I’ve been to church thousands of times, but I never heard someone read scripture and then say, “That’s about me!”

There were many doubters in his hometown, but today we can see that Jesus was right. He went on to Capernaum, drove out evil spirits who knew who he was, and than healed many. People had faith that Jesus was who he said he was, and brought many with all manner of illness to Jesus, who healed them all, well into the night.

Do you have anything on your agenda today more important than worshiping the Son of God?
