Heaven Reservation!

For Wednesday, August 31, 2022:

​John 14:2 CEV: Jesus said to his disciples, “There are many rooms in my Father's house. I wouldn't tell you this, unless it was true. I am going there to prepare a place for each of you.”

​I want us to understand that God is looking forward to each believer arriving in heaven. It will be an exciting time, not just for us, but for all of heaven. Jesus has your place already prepared in anticipation of your arrival! If you’re a believer, you already have a room in heaven with your name on the door!

​When the prodigal son returned home to repent and return, his Father met him out on the road. The only way this could have happened is if the Father was watching for him, expecting the son’s return, anticipating his arrival. The Father put a robe around the son, the family ring on his finger, and invited the whole neighborhood to celebrate the son’s return. The Father was glad to see him, just as the father will be glad to see each of us.

​Jesus said to his disciples, “Don't be worried! Have faith in God and have faith in me.”

Psalms 100 - Joy!

July 10, 2017 Monday Message:

“Worship the Lord with gladness.” Psalms 100:2a

When David led worship, they all shouted and sang joyful songs, along with lyres, flutes, cymbals, trumpets, tambourines – and even dancing! Nowadays, in our efforts to show reverence for the Lord, we sometimes sit quietly and bow our heads. I believe we need some of each!

I have felt for years that worship should be fun, joyful, something that we enjoy. A lot! Even if you can’t sing, everyone can make a loud noise. Shout out, sing out loud and make music for the Lord. We do this for the Lord, because God gives us joy!

The “Joy of the Lord” is more than a feeling. It’s an overall attitude of gratefulness for the goodness God has shown us. We can still be filled with joy, even when life hands us a lemon. We know that everything will be all right in the end.

“The Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” v5

Shout for Joy!

June 24, 2013 Monday Message:

When planning church services is part of your job description, you never get finished. I mean, you plan the songs to fit the message, schedule the band, rehearse the singers, have an awesome worship, but next Monday you have to start all over again!

Some weeks, things just fall into place; other times, it’s a struggle. Some weeks you absolutely love serving; once in a while it’s a burden.

But no matter what happens during the prep, Sunday is always the best. It might be a touch from the Holy Spirit – I don’t know – but when we come into the presence of the Lord, I’m always filled with joy and enthusiasm! Even when things have gone wrong, I just cannot maintain a bad mood while engaged in worship!

This is as it should be. Honoring the Lord is a good thing to do, and should be fun for us to do. God doesn’t want us to come in to His presence and be miserable.

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him, singing with joy.” Psalm 100:1-2
