Psalms 142 - God Cares

May 21, 2018 Monday Message:

“I cry to you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.’” Psalms 142:5 NIV

There was a time in David’s life when it felt like everyone was out to get him. David lamented, “Nobody cares about me.”

It may SEEM that way at times, but in fact God ALWAYS cares about you. David, praying from inside a cave where he was hiding, knew to turn to God when the going got tough.

We all need to walk with the Lord 24/7, because God intends to walk with us 24/7.  You never know when you might need help, so it’s good to have the Lord close at hand.

Jesus said, “Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matt. 6:26

God wants to always be there for you!

Psalm 3

June 15, 2015 Monday Message:

“Lord, you are a shield around me.” Psalm 3:3a NIV

In Psalm 3, David is having a bad day. It seems his son Absalom wanted to hasten his turn at running the kingdom, and was hunting down King David, who was forced to flee and hide. David’s also feeling a little sorry for himself – David is human!

But David ultimately puts faith in God over fear of Absalom. He can sleep now, knowing that God will sustain him. His confidence is bolstered to the point that David is unafraid not only of Absalom; he’s unafraid of tens of thousands coming against him! It was not easy being King!

David prays that God would fully deliver him. “Strike all my enemies on the jaw, and break the teeth of the wicked.”

Sometimes in life, evil tries to sideline each of us, but David teaches that the solution is to turn it over to God. Have great faith and confidence that the Lord will keep you safe. God still shelters, still protects, and still delivers us from all kinds of evil. God is on your side!

“From the Lord comes deliverance.” Psalm 3:8a
