Winning Team!

For Thursday, August 29, 2024:

Revelation 2:10a NLT: “Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer.”

Life has its ups and downs, and a lot of the downs are a direct result of the devil. Do not be afraid; do not worry. It’s only a temporary problem. In the end, the devil never wins the battle.

We are blessed to have Bibles wherein every word is God-inspired truth. We can flip to the back of the book and see who ultimately wins. Remember, God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) is the creator of everyone and everything, and Satan is one of His created beings. In the end, the Creator always wins.

"If you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life.” After all, as believers we’re now sons and daughters of the Most High!

Trust!

For Tuesday, July 16, 2024:

1 Peter 4:19 NLT: “If you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.”

If you are suffering, that isn’t from God. Sin runs rampant in the human race, and those doing good, those obeying God’s instructions are often criticized out of jealousy, greed or narcissism. God wants us to continue doing right whether criticized or not, whether suffering or not.

Doing the right things for the right reasons is a worthy goal. We already know what to do because, with the New Covenant, God wrote his laws on our hearts. He gave us a conscience. And God gave us the gift of discernment. We don’t need to waste time looking things up in a book. Now we instinctively know right from wrong!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart! He will never fail you!

Substance!

For Saturday, June 22, 2024:

1 Peter 2:21 NLT: “God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.”

Jesus suffered doing his work of rescuing mankind, and we also may suffer doing the Lord’s work. In spite of good or bad circumstances, remember that they are just that: circumstances. It’s what happens in life. We may or may not have control over our circumstances.

What we DO have control over is if we live our lives in a good way or a bad way. Are our lives ordered in such a way as to please our maker? Is what we do good, right, fair and honest? If we stop and think, ask yourself, “Should we really be doing this thing? Will the way we live our life make God smile?”

God’s reaction is substance, something of eternal value. Circumstances don’t matter; they change – a lot! But pleasing the Lord is something of substance!

Pray that we will care less about what others think, and more about what God thinks! Blessings as your go about your day!
