Moral Compass!

For Friday, March 14, 2025:

Leviticus 18:3 NLT: The Lord said to Moses, “Do not act like the people in Egypt, where you used to live, or like the people of Canaan, where I am taking you.

God is like a compass, pointing people in the right direction. God and His Bible are our moral guides. His edicts define right and wrong in our country and in the universe. It’s all for our own good.

God is showing the people of Israel the high ground. Egypt and Canaan didn’t know God the Creator, so neither obeyed God’s moral standards. God will eventually take them both down.

Sinning may seem like fun, but it’s often trading a moment of happiness for a lifetime of misery. Sexuality is one of the first things to go awry. The internet is filled with horror stories where a one-time fling resulted in 18 years of child support. Sexual missteps tear families apart, and put us on the highway to hell!

Leviticus ch. 18 outlines many of the things that can go wrong. You can read it for yourselves. God says, “Obey my instructions and do not defile yourselves by committing any of these detestable practices that were committed by the people who lived in the land before you. I am the Lord your God.”
