Galatians 5:13c NLT: “Use your freedom to serve one another in love.”
As Christianity was beginning, they didn’t yet have a Bible. The Good News was spread by word of mouth, and just like in the game of ‘telephone,’ errors could creep in. Some were trying to enforce the Law of Moses on the new believers, when in fact Jesus had set us free by taking all of mankind’s sin upon himself.
Paul wants to set the record straight. He keeps going back to the words Jesus quoted from Leviticus 19:18: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” That’s the portion of God’s Law that demands our attention. If we all fill the fellowship with love, we’ll fill our friends and ourselves with hope!
Use liberty to love each other!
Blessings and safety to all today!
