Respite!

September 6, 2021 Labor Day Monday Message:

Mark 6:31a NLT:Then Jesus said, ‘Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.’

Jesus knew that we sometimes need to get out of the rat race, the intense agenda of our daily lives. It’s good to step back, recharge our batteries so-to-speak, and return refreshed, ready to once again pursue our tasks.

Labor Day is a national holiday in the US, intended to not only give us an extra day of rest, but also to honor the contributions and achievements of American workers. Enjoy!

Jesus was fully God and fully man, and the ‘man’ part knew when it would prove beneficial to hit ‘pause.’ Tell yourself, “If it was good for Jesus, then it’s good for me too!”

Happy Labor Day!

Miracles!

For Sunday, September 5, 2021

Luke 24:3 NLT: The women went inside the tomb, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus.”

At the crucifixion, Jesus’ physical body stopped breathing but his spirit, his soul, his eternal essence could not be extinguished – not by Pharisee conspiracy theoriests nor by Roman Centurions. After all, Jesus is the Son of God-the-Creator, and God makes all the rules – no one else! Knowing God is still on his throne fills us with hope eternal.

Jesus’ physical death paid the price for the sins of the world. If you’re a believer, your soul has been bought and paid for by the Son of God himself. In the same act and on the same day, Jesus conquered mankind’s problems of both sin and death. Because of Jesus’ mission, we have assurance of salvation – a guarantee of life after this life in the presence of the Father.

The Creator’s intervention in our lives did not end when Jesus ascended, and that’s really Good News!

Hope in God!

For Saturday, September 4, 2021

Psalm 42:11 NLT: “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again — my Savior and my God!”

Sometimes we’re happy, sometimes we’re sad. We can all feel a little bit down from time to time. But the psalmist asks, “Why?” Good question!

If you know the Lord, you should put your faith, hope and trust in Him. And if you’re trusting our omnipotent creator-God, you know everything will turn out for the best! Speak to yourself and challenge your own sense of discouragement. Don’t focus on what’s getting you down. Rather focus on the greatness of almighty God. As a believer, you’ve been adopted into His family, and your Father wants nothing but the best for you!

Confidence in God fills us with hope!
